A Wet Day in the City
Rain and steady drizzle all day today…. <yuck!!>.
I had breakfast at a small place called Jasmine’s Restaurant at Bush and Mason Streets, then returned to the hotel for a short pit stop before heading out for the day.
Leaving the hotel, I hopped the Powell-Mason cable car from Powell Street, my destination the Cable Car Museum at the corner of Washington and Mason Streets:
After exhausting the Cable Car Museum, I took the Mason-Powell cable car to Filbert Street and walked up Telegraph Hill to Coit Tower via the Filbert Steps… WHEW!!

I toured the grounds then went up to the top of Coit Tower (via elevator of course) for an awesome, albeit misty/cloudy, 360-degree city view:

I walked back down Lombard Street to Mason Street. I kept on seeing these interesting-looking trees on the way down:
After climbing down I took a cable car back to the hotel area, first stopping at a place called the Pinecrest Restaurant (corner of Geary & Mason) for lunch.
Feeling exhausted, I went back to the hotel to rest for a few hours (I hadn’t slept well the night before and had pesky jet lag still lurking).
At about 6:00 p.m. I took the MUNI subway out to the Church Street area to look around. I walked the rest of the way down Market Street to The Castro and had dinner at the Baghdad Café on Market Street, just around the corner from Castro Street. After dinner I made my way to Castro Street again and went through more shops.
The weather had been persistent rain and drizzle the whole day, which was not the most inspiring. I was getting weary anyway so I caught the subway from Castro station back to the Powell stop. I then hopped on the cable car back to the hotel. Off to bed.
