The Journey Begins
This year Vince and I decided to take our trips in Canada and rediscover our own country. We wanted to take a short May break to somewhere neither of us have been so, to make a long story short, we settled on Québec City. Over the years we’ve heard so many people raving about QC, so we decided to take a little trek to the east of us and experience it for ourselves.
We flew on Porter Airlines from the Toronto Islands. The flight left on time and was very smooth all the way to Québec City.

It was a beautiful, clear day when we took off (little did we know this would be the last time we would see the sun for a few days). The time really flew (literally) during the 90-minute flight and we were landing at Jean-Lesage International Airport in Québec City before we knew it.
We caught a cab from the airport to our hotel, the Auberge aux Deux Lions:

We checked in to the hotel, dropped our bags in our room and headed out for a good, long walk around this part of the city in an effort to familiarize ourselves a little with our surroundings. It was starting to cloud over and our feet we getting tired so we headed back to the hotel and unpacked our suitcases.
At about 5:30 we headed out to a highly-rated gourmet burger restaurant we’d heard about called Chez Victor (145 Rue Saint-Jean). We ordered gourmet burgers which were to die for! Absolutely delicious. I had my first Québec poutine of the trip here. Awesome restaurant, food and service.
We got back to the hotel about 7:00, where we rested and planned for tomorrow’s activities. It had been quite a full day.
Need some pic’s of the delicious food, your blog made me hungy
